How to strengthen your immune system

Posted on October 19, 2021November 1, 2021 by Eva Donners

“ Long-term use of medicine is a small dosage of poison.”

According to Dr. Jau-Fei Chen’s E.Excel International Nutritional Immunology Part 1, states that “ The American Cancer Society maintains that nutrition is a major player in preventing cancer deaths”. So how could some people neglect a healthy diet when it is already proven by Science?

Why are they skeptical? Perhaps, many are not well-informed or health issue doesn’t sound alarming to them. Why wait for the risk?

Cancer, a very gloomy prognosis because most patients don’t get cured even doctors did their best. We all know that the latest medical breakthrough is more advanced than a hundred years ago. Medical devices are high–tech, a cutting-edge indeed! But various diseases are still increasing and others are hard to diagnose. Why? The answer remains  a mystery  when sometimes a doctor says,” the cause is unknown”.

I firmly believe that Strong Immune System means having a well-balanced healthy lifestyle choice. It’s like chemistry- balancing the equation. Eva Donners

We can’t have a strong immune system to defense against virus and infections in just one step for there is no cure-all. It’s a matter of balance. Just simply do it without noticing  the  time and  effort. Remember, most dangerous diseases occur after 10 to 20 years . So, why wait if we can avoid cancer and other hard to cure illness through self-discipline and by following these immune system enhancers.

  1. Sleep at the proper time and be sure to complete the 8 hours sleep. You must start  from 10 pm to 6 am. If you can’t complete the 8 hours for some reasons, you should at least sleep from 11 pm to 3am because this is the best time to sleep according to health expert. Why? Because you will get the 4-hour liver detoxification process which is vital for your optimum health.
  2. Be happy as much as possible. It’s a cliché if I say,” don’t get stressed” for nobody is exempted from it. Just simply learn how to deal with it. Based on my own experience, the more I get stressed the more my face and body become bloated due to hormonal imbalance caused by being angry or upset. When we are in a stressful situation all the systems in the body become chaotic.
Dr.Jau-Fei Chen on her  interview with channel News Asia, she said :“ You need proper rest and a good emotion. I mean, be happy. Every time when you are stressed or angry then your body secrete corticosteroid and then it suppresses your immune system” .
  3. Eat healthy. Everybody knows this but others jeopardize their  health  at the expense of other things which they  already have. For instance, she/he would rather buy more clothes at all seasons sale than to allocate a budget for food, preferably organic. What could be more classic than this example? They say,” I eat a lot of vegetables”. My point, even if you eat the whole garden of fruits and vegetables but you don’t eat them every day, you don’t get a daily supply of antioxidants. Fruits are the only plant food that can be eaten raw except for other vegetables, nuts and seeds. Raw foods are always the best option because the nutrients are wholesome-they are not cooked and refined. For busy working people who don’t have time to chew piece by piece or don’t have the motivation to eat them for this reason,” It makes me full quickly, I can’t eat my favourite food and takes time to chew.” Use juice extractor or blender to extract juices. Despite hectic schedule, at least you get 5 fresh sources of fibre, antioxidants and phytochemicals  a day, enough to supply your daily nourishment. I recommend the following:
  • 1 or 2 pcs. Apple
  • 1 or 2 pcs. Orange
  • ½ Pineapple
  • 100 grams of Grapes
  • 1 or 2 Carrotsvitamins is fine but vitamins are no longer wholesome because they are chemically processed. Best example: When you eat 10 pieces of orange fruits to get vitamin C, you don’t get overdosed but taking  10 pcs. of ascorbic acid tablets is no doubt dangerous to health. Thus , God-made is always better than human-made. Anything made by human destroys human. Take it in moderation .If you know what you are eating and the benefits you can get, the more you become motivated to eat for a lifetime supply of good health.Remember the “mind over matter” (what you think is what you become) principle. If you make it a habit to internalise the nutrients and the health benefits from plant foods( fruits and vegetables) then you will never get sick and tired of eating them. Undoubtedly , you never waste your single cent in buying foods.
  1. 4.    Exercise. The more you sweat, the more you release toxin and toxin doesn’t literally mean  from the chemically-processed food that you eat. It is also from being stressed emotionally. Let’s follow Dr.Jau-Fei Chen’s  best advice,” The exercise  enhances  the  circulation of our limb, if you don’t exercise at least you practice deep breathing because when our muscles contract then our limb tend to circulate better and that is good for our Immune System” .

I know someone who is a heart surgeon, he  said :” I don’t care about  diet, I  smoke, I eat sweets and fatty foods daily but I do intensive exercise regularly. ”I strongly disagree. Can you get antioxidants and fiber from just exercising?

5.) No Alcohol and nicotine consumption. A glass of red wine is good but not too much but no  tobacco at all.

6.) Water, the universal solvent. Drink 8 glasses of water a day. There is no substitute to pure water. It helps you sweat toxins out of the body through urine and it raises your metabolism if you need to lose weight.

Caution: Don’t overdo it because too much water makes u feel dizzy. Thus, there is always a specific amount in every health advice.
